This Time?
In preparation for my Women's Lit class this Fall, I'm re-reading Jane Eyre. I read it for the first time in Jr. High and LOVED it. I re-read it as an undergrad and got SO ANGRY. I'm wondering what my reaction will be this time.

So angry? Really?
I've only read it once (in grad school) and I was surprised how much I love it. My main reaction was wanting to name my first born St. John. Unfortunately, my wife has vetoed that many times over. A guy can dream.
The first time, I thought it was "romantic." The next time, I had NO sympathy for Mr. Rochester and was angry at Jane that she did--and maybe even at my younger self because I had. Now, I'm only about 125 pages in, and I'm really enjoying it--not so much plot as craft this time. We'll see what happens as the novel unfolds . . .
